The Edmontosaurus, whose name means "Edmonton lizard," is a large herbivorous dinosaur that lived at the end of the Cretaceous period, about 66 million years ago. This member of the Hadrosauridae family, also known as "duck-billed dinosaurs," could measure over 12 meters long and weigh up to 4 tons. Thanks to its wide beak and hundreds of small teeth arranged in a battery, it easily crushed the plants it fed on.
An interesting particularity: it is thought that the Edmontosaurus probably lived in herds, which allowed it to better protect itself against large predators like the Tyrannosaurus Rex. Scientists also hypothesize that it could inflate a kind of crest or skin sac on its snout to communicate.
The Papo Edmontosaurus figurine realistically reproduces the characteristic features of this fascinating dinosaur: its flattened beak, textured skin, and massive posture. An essential model to complete a dinosaur collection, imagine life in the Cretaceous period, or spark the curiosity of children passionate about paleontology.
