The coir fibers are attached to the base with glue. As such, they are not all attached with the same intensity, and it is completely normal for some fibers to detach during the first few uses.

For maintenance, prefer dry cleaning. Use a brush, without water, and do not put it in the washing machine.

Each doormat is made from the husk of approximately 25 coconuts. The husks are first "matured" in the coastal lagoons where they are harvested, then beaten by hand to extract the fibers. The doormats are then painted and colored by hand, one by one, using different stencils. A traditional outdoor sun-drying technique is used to fix the paint to the doormat's surface. Finally, a non-slip backing is added to keep the doormat firmly in place and reduce the risk of slipping.
